New makeover coming today or tomorrow! :D

I feel bad for not updating this blog for so long, because I have a lot of new stuff to share with you readers (if anyone is still reading this, of course)! As I said in the title, this blog is getting a makeover as soon as I finish the banner that I am working on right now.
Until then, you can get an update of my graphics since the last update. I will put the drawings in a separate post, I'm too lazy to scan them all right now.

Now, before you ask anything, I made this for a project in Danish. We were working with a book and one of the tasks was to write a part of the story from another character's point of view. We were working in a group, and I did all the illustrations. So, yeah. I know, the quality of the shading itself is horrible and asdfghjklmnbvcxsertyutrewxcvbn but it's still better than a barely visible pencil-drawn illustration like by all the other groups. I like the trees though. :D
And I forgot to mention that I drew it all by myself, no reference pics.

Ok, I agree with the judges. The background is horrible. But it was my first time using a tablet - for the hair and dress - and I think it works quite well.

I understand why I was eliminated, this is better than my previous graphics but it isn't good enough anyway. There are some places that look really awkward and wrong, although for my first time drawing fur, it didn't come out as bad as I feared (the fur, everything else is much worse).
Thank you SDNTGD for giving me this opportunity, I know I'm not good enough now but maybe some day I'll become a professional graphic/animation artist - yes, I'm starting to take the dream seriously.


Yeah, that was all. But expect MUCH more from me soon - I've decided to make this into a personal blog and not only graphics, so maybe I will also start writing real life-related posts and stuff like that.

Wildgabz's graphic - banner coming soon

Now I'm done with a graphic I have been working on yesterday evening and today at school... actually, that's quite fast for me!

Here it is:

It turned out sort of okay I guess. I don't like the shading on the t-shirt, and my first attempt at floral patterns on the pants didn't turn out that good. In fact those roses look like... dog poos.

On the other hand, I really like the hair and I like the technique I used for the necklace.

It's made in black, grey and white colors, it's full body and it's sort of chic. Wildgabz, that's the sort of thing you asked for, right? If you don't like the pattern on the pants I can remove it, it takes 20 seconds. Now all I need to add is the text.

New banner!

As you probably have noticed by the time you are reading this post, I decided to make a new banner out of the graphic I made earlier today and another one that I made just now.

What do you think about it? In my opinion, it turned out really well!

P.S. Tomorrow I'm going to Copenhagen with my family for two days (it takes too long time to explain why), so unless I survive a big fight with my mom or secretly take my computer with and have a fight with her later, I won't be online until the day after tomorrow. Maybe I will take my iPod Touch with, so I can answer guestbook comments and stuff, but I can't do any graphics or anything!

Today I was bored so I decided to make a new graphic. I don't want to work on the banner anymore, because the first half was made with my old technique and it looks really bad, and I'd rather start something new than erase half of the old stuff. Maybe I'll use this graphic for the new banner?

It's cute, right? I really like it. The hair has turned out very well.

First drawing for my little brother's book

HERE is one of the cars on the picture, and an explanation to what this is.

On this picture, the two bad guys get sent in prison for what they did (I'll explain the whole story when the next picture is ready).

I got eliminated from SDNTGD...

Yes, but at least I came as far as Task 1! There are people who applied and didn't even get to the competition itself!
I deserved the scores I got, and I will use the criticism for my future graphics. I am a bit sad right now, but I'm not giving anything up! By the next cycle I will improve, and get further than task 1!
Here are my entries (for some reason, only the first one was shown/judged)

I actually like the second one more, so I don't know why only the first was shown. Maybe I made a mistake when writing the link, so it was invalid!

But if the second entry was also shown, it probably wouldn't have changed anything. I am still not good enough. Yet.




P.S. I am sorry if I sound mean because I am in a bad mood right now, but I have a little rant for you, the readers of this blog.

I get around 8 visits every day, and I often get new graphic/banner requests just because they are free. It means that many people like my graphics and I should take that as a compliment, but when you visit this blog can't you leave a short comment?
The only comments I get are when I finish requested graphic and the person who it's for writes 'thank you, it's nice' or something like that. But if I post graphics or drawings for personal use, nobody cares! The visitors who have randomly come across my blog quickly leave again without a comment or even a 'reaction' (the rating at the bottom of every post) to any of my posts, and those who request a graphic only care about their own graphic!

I'm not necessarily asking for a positive comment, but if you are writing something negative it should just contain some constructive criticism. What do you mean by 'constructive criticism', you might be wondering. And I mean don't just say 'this is ugly' but explain why and what I can do better! Just be honest, and say it in a polite way.

So dear readers, if you like my graphics, please let me know that! Comment, share your opinions! It doesn't take that long!

Car graphic for personal use

My little brother is obsessed with a story about cars my mum has found on the internet. The only problem is, that the story is unfinished! The first chapter was published in 2008, and the author promised to published more but never did it. Now it's 3 years ago since her last comment saying that the next chapter was almost ready, and the people who read it back then have forgotten it.
But my little brother has only found it a few weeks ago, and he wants an ending to the story! So my mum has made up a short ending, and I should illustrate it!

I will draw the cars separately, and put them together into pictures afterwards. This way we can also look at the cars separately.

This is one of the bad guys, who apologizes and becomes 'good' later on in the story, in the next picture. I am terrible at drawing facial features so you can't really see that those lamps are meant to be eyes and the mouth is barely visible, but I like it anyway! Today I'll draw the other bad guy, and soon the first picture will be ready!

Wow. I am amazed with myself. When I look at it I think: 'did I really do this?'. I tried a new and harder shading technique, and it turned out much better than all the other graphics I've done put together! Like, seriously. See for yourself.

I'm so sorry for the huge delay, you probably don't want to hear my excuses for it. God, 6 graphic requests, 2 big tasks at school due Monday and Tuesday (that I have barely started) and a maths homework that I don't understand. SIX GRAPHIC REQUESTS! Of course it makes me happy that you like my graphics but I'm like in a crisis situation right now. On the other hand, I don't want to close the requests page! I'm afraid you'll just have to wait.
Anywayz, here it is (in original size, of course it can be made smaller):

I am seriously proud of the hair. Like wow. It almost looks like a Stardoll hairstyle, and I made it ALL BY MYSELF! :D
All the rest is okay. The dress is not shaded very much, but that's because I was afraid of making it look wrong. I re-did the dress shading two or three times!
If you want, I can also add a shadow :)

A makeover and a new banner! :)

Now I am finally done with this banner. It took a long time to make, but I am really proud of the result. It's the best graphic I've ever made!

If you take the text and bubbles off, you can see the shading properly:

The weird hair sticking out at the top has been fixed. It looks a bit better now :)

Wow, it's a long time since I suggested to try to make one for her, and afterwards I got asked by other people to do banners and stuff. I figured out that banners are more important than a graphic that I suggested myself and that won't be used for anything, so I left it unfinished for some time. And now that I actually found time to do it, her skin color was different so all the shading on the skin had to be erased and redone! But I've improved loads since then, and I also removed much of the other shading and did it the way I do it now.
You should be happy, because it looks much better than it would have done if I made it a month ago!

Now that I see it again, the face looks too small and the hair sticks out in a weird way at the top. I used a hair outline from I-Dressup, but shaded it all myself. I think it looks very good, way better than with my old technique!
And I'm working on the new banner now!

P.S. I forgot the charger for my computer in the train on my way home from Copenhagen, and it will (hopefully) take 3-4 days for the train company staff to find it, and my commuter has only 2 hrs energy left! :(

Unfinished Twiggy-inspired graphic

I don't know who I should put in here, so the skin is not shaded yet. I tried a new technique for hair, it looks better than the old one but I need to practice on it! I will be working on new graphics when I have time, I'm in a hotel right now!
